Make do and mend, old chap!

The racket those old jets make is just astonishing isn't it? Southend Airshow just a few years back there was a hovering harrier a hundred yards out from the beach. I was five hundred yards away but the sound actually made my brains cells hurt! Then there were the Jaguars. The joke in the RAF was if you wanted to own a Jaguar, go and buy an acre of Scotland. If the wingman had followed him in, you'd get two for the price of one (some assembly needed).Hippohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09468795398813061897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697219798525216733.post-58354540695423298762012-11-01T10:03:06.168-07:002012-11-01T10:03:06.168-07:00I can always remember visiting an airshow as a kid...I can always remember visiting an airshow as a kid and the Starfighters making a high speed pass, they about popped my little ear drums!loughborough soarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16689930577281555050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697219798525216733.post-60129220922069353292012-11-01T10:01:04.061-07:002012-11-01T10:01:04.061-07:00Good stuff Bob!!Good stuff Bob!!loughborough soarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16689930577281555050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697219798525216733.post-39859585581849720832012-11-01T06:02:29.731-07:002012-11-01T06:02:29.731-07:00I remember standing dumbstruck at an airshow in Ge...I remember standing dumbstruck at an airshow in Germany in the sixties as a Vulcan made a slow pass then opened everything up and soared into the sky. The noise was incredible! There were also lightnings there pulling their famous straight up into the sky like a rocket stunt. Truly a memorable experience. I have a mate, ex RAF who lives in Cumbria and has a lightning in his back garden.Hippohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09468795398813061897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697219798525216733.post-21511032470966392092012-10-31T13:35:30.809-07:002012-10-31T13:35:30.809-07:00I have read it Chris a cracking readI have read it Chris a cracking readGeorgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06926692554414114477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697219798525216733.post-32669241046870920452012-10-31T00:45:29.359-07:002012-10-31T00:45:29.359-07:00Cheers George
