A few hours......

With another weekend being a complete washout and 40 mph + winds, I thought it would be a Sunday all day session at the vice again but the wife had other ideas, The greenhouse needed repairing from the storm damage a few weeks past, then the car needed cleaning and hoovering, and finally after a splendid lunch I got to sit and chill at the vice, A couple of my favourite spider patterns to act as droppers when nymphing in Finland.

Small Olive

Waterhen Bloa

Woodcock & red

& finally a heavy dressed Partridge & orange.

There are worst ways to spend a Sunday afternoon!

  1. Hello George

Nice looking flies as always. Where do you get your waterhen feathers from please? I have tried a few sites/shops but to no avail. The waterhen bloa always seems to outfish the other spiders for me.

    Regards

    1. Hi Dave,
Waterhen wings are like rocking horse Poo, I only managed to get a single wing things were that tight, so Im sorry to say until I can lay my hands on some more my contact is staying anonymous. Im lead to believe that hooded crow is a good substitute.

    2. Cheers George

I thought so. I'll have to go down the local park with my catapult then 😊. I did read that Jackdaw also wasn't a bad option so I'll keep my eyes open.

      Regards
