About Me

My photo
George
Ive been a keen river angler since around the age of 6 being brought up in Larkhall & fishing the River Avon & River Clyde in Scotland. Having served in the Armed Forces worldwide for 24 years and retired in 2006. Whilst in the forces it was mainly competitions against other armed services as well as international teams in Holland & UK. I have since gave up the match fishing scene and went back to the fishing I love the most River Fishing both using float tactics and Fly tactics, primarily using bamboo rods and vintage reels. Am now settled in the small market town of Bedale on the North Yorkshire Dales. Having made floats & other pieces of fishing tackle for over 30 years purely for self pleasure and about 20 years ago was asked to make some for a fellow angler who saw me use my floats and one thing led to another and more & more people were asking for my floats. I only make floats in my spare time, when Im not fishing or working and only make to order, at the moment Im taking a sabbatical from the float making and concentrating on life's pleasures.....Fishing!
