Never Too Old to Learn New Skills!

Well another week flashes past and its the weekend, With preparations well in hand for the trout season, Im heading away this weekend, except its not to any of my usual haunts which as you can see could be a number of Dales, but not on this occasion.

Im heading over to the posh part of the Pennine's to meet up with an old friend who is going to attempt to teach me the intricate ins & outs of  how to make my own furled leaders for dry fly fishing. The master of furled leaders is opening his workshop to me.

I've been using Steven's furled leaders for more years than I care to remember, and for dry fly fishing there is nothing finer than one of these leaders combined with my cane rod.

Topping up the dries box again last night with a couple of emerger patterns.

Olive emerger #18

Whatever your up to over the weekend, enjoy.

    2. Grayling are well into spawning on our rivers now anyway Neil so time for a few weeks rest and leave them in peace, Trout season only a couple of weeks away. Furled leaders are superb for presenting dry flies, been using them for years, wouldn't use anything else for the dry fly.
