No Fishing this Week

For the more observant followers of the blog you will have seen the distinctive lack of fishing report this week, primarily due to me having to leave the river well alone after collapsing and having to be taken by ambulance to hospital.
Thankfully after several hours of needle pricking, blood taking and scans I was released on my merry way again but under strict orders of No driving, No standing up to my waist in cold water and plenty of rest.

The nearest I got to any sort of fishing was tying up 3 flies for topping up my spiders box before becoming heavy handed and abandoned the idea.

Thankfully for my sanity normal service will be resumed next weekend where Im being escorted on a new part of river by a close friend and fellow angler.

  1. George I'm glad for the good doctor's report.
I had a stroke several years ago and thankfully I recovered.
    Do what they tell you.

    Nice spiders...starling and what?

    1. Thanks Alan, I learned my lessons a few years back when my kidneys failed and I had 2 blood clots drop into my lung so I do as i'm told nowadays. The first two are starling and simple green tinsel to represent a normal fly, I've had a lot of success with this pattern especially when there is a sheep or dead animal close by the river with blue bottle flies on it, the single spider is just a black magic with peacock herl and red wire rib.
